TRIP ITINERARY: ISTAN - RIO VERDE - OJEN


Start from meeting-point, Hotel or residence at 9:30 a.m.(Marbella or Costa del Sol).


Up on the mountains, we stop in a quarry to enjoy the magnificent landscape
surrounding the Reservoir, the Costa del Sol, the Mediterranean Sea, Gibraltar and Africa.

We´ll meet Pepe the shepherd, we'll practice "the Sling shot" and we'll hand-milk the goats.


Visit to Istán, a lovely typical white village, and " the old Public Washing place".
An ideal moment to have a typical Andalusian breakfast.

 

A) Winter Season.

Entry to the Natural Park following hidden side roads.
Explanation of the "Pinsapo" and cork tree forest,
the most interesting arboreal species in the Natural Park, 
and information about the Quejigo oaks, characteristic indigenous trees.
We´ll also watch the wild fauna (Eagles, wild boars, Spanish Ibex, etc.)

 
B) Summer Season.

An idyllic stop at the heart of Rio Verde (Green River).
The brave adventurers will cross a hanging bridge.
Information on the rich biodiversity:
The subtropical forest of Laurisilva.
A relaxing bath (weather permitting) in an authentic "ecological paradise", Unforgettable!.
The tasting of juice and fruits, next to natural pools...delicious!




Stop and have lunch in a typical "venta" with traditional food.
Different menus to choose from, with salads, dessert and drinks included.

   

After lunch, two options:

a) Visit of Ojén, a beautiful white village: We´ll walk through narrow streets explaining its Moorish history and visit the Church and caves. In the "VINO DE MÁLAGA" MUSEUM ("Malaga Wine Museum") we´ll have a wine tasting session.

  

 

b) Nature: We'll head towards the mountains around Juanar, and walk to the mirador (view point) where there are spectacular views of the Costa del Sol. This tour includes a moderate hike of about 35 minutes and is easily managed by most people. We will also observe the wildlife in Cynegetic Reserve (Spanish Ibex, etc.)

Visitors return to the Hotel happy and satisfied
after having the best day of their holidays.
